Asian Studies: Shiatsu - 110 Hours
Learn to incorporate bodywork theory and techniques from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Description
Students will learn the history, theory, principles and techniques of Chinese Modalities including the meridian and point systems, five elements and Shiatsu with session protocols for administering 60-90 minute Shiatsu sessions. They will also learn basic Tui Na, Qi Gong and other related techniques that can be incorporated to add variety and/or enhance the effectiveness of their sessions. Students will gain hands-on experience in these classes as well as in student clinic where they will have an opportunity to work with real clients performing full sessions. In addition, students will deepen their understanding of Anatomy, Pathology, Indications and Contraindications as they apply to Asian principles and techniques. This section also includes an additional one hour in health and hygiene and an additional two hours in business and ethics as they relate to Asian modalities. Course price includes tuition, registration, and 4% processing fee for online payments.
